Odds and ends
Sunday, January 14th, 2007I know….I’ve been slack. This blog hasn’t been updated in ages…! So I thought I’d better do it today. But then I haven’t had anything to write about really…..so I’ve been accumulating the events in my life and so this will be a brief update on what has been happening so far.
Firstly, my results for my exams came out. of course, I was nervous and all that, totally convinced that I didn’t do well at all. Imagine to my surprise when my mum (yea…mum!) came bursting in my bedroom door at 6.30 am yelling…"Get up! Your results are here!". My mum had apparently woken really early and waited at the post office for the mail to arrive, and then accosted the postman to find my letter that contained my results and rushed home. Hence, waking me at 6.30 in the morning. And I thank God that my mum’s effort was worth it and I scored 91.85 out of a possible 99.95. Yay! Truth be told, I did not even expect to get into the high 80s. I knew that I had fooled around too much this year. Even my student counsellor was surprised…LOL! I could not believe it. But I am thankful to God everyday, coz I know that I could have only achieved that score by His blessing. Incidentally, it turned out that I was one of 7 students who scored over the 90 mark. =)
Secindly, Christmas. Hope all of you had an awesome Christmas 2006 and received presents…etc….As for me, due to a horrific car accident that claimed the lives of two people very close to me that occurred on the 15th December 2006, Christmas was a time of reflection and remembrance. Just a reminder at the close of the year of how fleeting life was. However, as normal Christmases go, it was alright. Mum cooked and we had people over for dinner all Christmas week. Nothing too exciting, but I hardly expected anything different under the circumstances. Just a quiet family Christmas with close friends.
Next, the celebration of the new year 2007. As it happens every year, a little town called Morgan, situated around 60 km away from where I live, hosts a massive street party. Although if you are under 18, you are not supposed to drink alcohol on the grounds (yea right!!) LOLx…But anyway, just my luck, I fell ill just a few days before and seriously did not feel like going all the way there. So I spent it with my then boyfriend (more on that later) who incidentally lives in Malaysia. So instead of the traditional kiss at midnight, we ended up talking on the phone throughout the countdown and well into the hours over d morning. LOL. Overall, not too bad really. And I got a little kiss from one of my friends a few days later coz he felt bad that I couldn’t be there at the street party. =P My souvenier apparently….lolx..
And then…my boyfriend and I broke up. Breaking up always sucks…but it was just inevitable. It was time for us to go our separate ways….and I’n happy to say that we parted on mutual terms that were agreeable to us. =)
So now, the next big thing is that I’m waiting for my university offer letters to come through. Hopefully, I get through to the course I want at the university I want. But it’s going to be competitive. So…Wish me luck! And I’ll definitely let you know what happens….=)
Guess that’s it for now. Later….xxx
